It was the staff at my husband's store that supported my writing long before any of my books hit the shelves. In fact, several staffers at LifeWay read the first three books in The Baxter Series months before I presented them to Multnomah Publishers, then cheered me on to success. Here we are together, celebrating the store's sale of the 1,000th copy of Tested by Fire. |

Much to my surprise, I was honored at a luncheon for Tyler Women in the Arts and awarded a certificate from the Texas Governor. The certificate reads: "Greetings: Know ye that the Governor of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Kathy Herman, for being honored at Women in Tyler Day 2002 for your contributions in literature." The most exciting part for me was that I was able to give God the glory in a public setting, and it was well-received. |

A sweet lady named Dot Bradford bought the 1,000th copy of Tested By Fire sold at my husband's LifeWay Christian Store in Tyler, Texas, and won a free copy of all the books in The Baxter Series. Book signings are such a great way for me to build friendships with my readers. |

Here I am at my first out of town booksigning in Jackson, MS, with novelist Terri Blackstock. What a great day meeting new friends! |
